1. Bradley Reporting's commitment to privacy
J & K Bradley Reporting Pty Ltd ATF Topcat Discretionary Services Trust (trading as Bradley Reporting, Captify.live and CalGen.AI) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals whose personal information we collect and handle in the course of the business.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and store personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in Schedule 1 of that Act.
Shearwater Transcriber users: Shearwater Transcriber processes all audio locally on your device. No audio, transcript content or personal data is transmitted to our servers during transcription. The only data we receive relates to licence activation and verification via our secure licensing server.
2. What personal information we collect
Personal information is collected that is reasonably necessary for the business activities. This may include:
From clients and Inquirers
- Name, email address, phone number and organisation
- Billing and payment information (processed securely via Stripe — we do not store card details)
- Matter details, hearing dates and transcription requirements
- Correspondence and communication records
From Shearwater Transcriber purchasers
- Name and email address provided at purchase
- ABN or tax number (if provided for business purchase)
- Machine ID generated locally for licence activation (this is a non-identifiable hash)
- Licence status and activation records
From website visitors
- Contact form submissions including name, email and message content
- Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security purposes
- Website analytics data collected via Google Analytics 4, subject to your consent (see Section 5 below)
3. How Bradley Reporting uses personal information
Personal information is used for the following purposes:
- Delivering court reporting, captioning, Hansard and transcription services to clients
- Processing purchases and activating Shearwater Transcriber licences
- Responding to enquiries and providing customer support
- Issuing invoices and processing payments
- Complying with legal and regulatory obligations
- Improving Bradley Reporting's services and software
- Communicating service updates or changes relevant to engagement with Bradley Reporting
Personal information is not used for unsolicited marketing without consent, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
4. Disclosure of personal information
Personal information may be disclosed to third parties in the following limited circumstances:
- Stripe Inc. — for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of payment data.
- Xero Australia Pty Ltd — for accounting and invoice management.
- Railway (infrastructure provider) — our licensing server is hosted on Railway's infrastructure in accordance with their data handling policies.
- Google LLC — for website analytics via Google Analytics 4, where the visitor has provided consent (see Section 5 below).
- Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law, court order or regulatory authority.
Bradley Reporting does not disclose transcript content, hearing recordings or client matter details to any third party without explicit client consent or legal compulsion.
5. Website analytics and cookies
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our content. Google Analytics 4 is a service provided by Google LLC.
What we collect via Google Analytics
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Approximate geographic location (country and city, derived from IP address)
- Device, browser and operating system type
- Referral source (the website or search engine that sent you to us)
- Interactions with specific elements such as clicks on download links or calls to action
What we do not collect
- We do not collect or attempt to identify individual visitors by name, email, employer or any other personally identifying information through analytics

6. Data storage and security
Personal information is stored on secure servers located in Australia or with providers who maintain equivalent security standards. Website analytics data collected via Google Analytics is processed and stored by Google LLC, which may store and process data in the United States. Google acts as our data processor under standard contractual clauses. Reasonable technical and organisational security measures are applied to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
Shearwater Transcriber's licensing data is stored on our Railway-hosted server with encrypted communications. Audio files processed by Shearwater Transcriber are never transmitted to our servers — all AI processing occurs locally on the user's machine.
7. Access and correction
You have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, and to request correction of any information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
To make a request, please contact Bradley Reporting using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
8. Complaints
If you believe Bradley Reporting has breached the Australian Privacy Principles or this Privacy Policy, please contact Bradley Reporting in writing. Bradley Reporting will investigate your complaint and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
Bradley Reporting may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with the date of last update clearly noted. Continued use of Bradley Reporting's services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
